Some of America's finest illustrators have been gathered here to show off their stunning & beautiful images, based on the creations of Edgar Rice Burroughs. ERB has risen to become a legendary fantasy writer but his name is forever linked with his most fascinating and enduring creation, Tarzan Of The Apes.

Volume 1 is devoted to a reprinting of these stories as they originally appeared. Among the artists whose illustrations appear are J. Allen St. John, John Coleman Burroughs, Hal Foster, Frank Frazetta, Jesse Marsh, Russ Manning, Roy G. Krenkel, Emsh & Reed Crandall. The works displayed include cover art, Comic and newspaper strips, paintings, watercolours, sketches, spot illustrations and much more. There are also interviews with surviving illustrators Frank Frazetta & Roy Krenkel.
